Hybrid Protection
The Hybrid Spark Gap design combines a spark gap and MOV in series to improve the overvoltage tolerance of the surge protector. This combination allows the HSG to be exposed to continuous over voltage of up to 480V while still providing a low voltage protection level.
LED Status Active Display
The LED display indicates segment status and indicates normal operation when all LEDs are brightly lit. A dim LED phase segment indicates the failure of an external backup fuse and this will activate the external alarm. An extinguished LED indicates a component failure or thermal overload, also activating the external alarm.

Two Phase DIN Mount Surge Filters
The Novaris IFD2 range of surge ×lters is designed for protecting foating AC or DC power supplies. Applications include DC power supplies, balanced circuits for rail applications and single phase IT systems.
Multistage Protection
The IFD2 uses 3 stages of protection to provide a low let through voltage. The first stage comprises a delta con×guration of metal oxide varistors to provide clamping between both lines and between each line and earth. The second stage is a low pass filter providing instantaneous protection against high frequency impulses. The third stage is a line to line metal oxide varistor to provide an extra level of protection against primary and load side surges.
No Earth Leakage
The IFD2 configuration results in zero earth leakage under normal operating conditions. The earth reference for the product is isolated using a spark gap. This means even in the event of a short circuit failure within the device, no current will pass to earth.
